Hambuger Cupcake and Cookie Fries

I always do something wacky for my husband's April Fool's birthday.

This year I stumbled across these adorable cupcakes and cookies from Bakerella and have been saving them for the perfect occasion.

They turned out perfect and my hubs said it was the best burger and fries he's ever had. Did I mention they were super easy? Seriously, it took me longer to bake everything than it did to assemble these guys.

I'm thinking these would be perfect for Father's Day too, don't you?

Mario Brothers Cupcakes

My friend Laura asked me to make her some Mario themed cupcakes for her son's 7th birthday. She sent me a pic. of some done by another artist for inspiration. When I got the picture, I thought, "Wow! That's amazing. I can't possibly do that."

I'm not trying to toot my own horn here, I promise. But, sometimes I am amazed by what I am able to do...what God gifts me to do. I cannot take credit for His gifts.

I can do nothing that God doesn't wield my hands to do.

Often, before I start on a difficult project, I pray that God would guide my hands, give me patience and allow me to glorify him through my talents.

And I always remind myself of the verse, Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men. Coll. 3:23.

It's what keeps me bringing my best work forward.

Cupcakes

Well, not much has been happening over here since my kitchen has been packed up. I don't have any decorating tools except my hands and a few basic pans at my parent's house.

I've been creative in other ways this week and have been getting sewing lessons from my mom.

But, in between, I have made a few edibles. I tried a chocolate chip cookie dough cupcake recipe on Saturday. It was yummy even though I made the cookie dough balls a little small. Oh well, next time I'll know to make them bigger so there is more cookie dough in the cupcake bite. I experimented with a new frosting recipe and it was YUMMY. Do the words brown sugar frosting make your mouth water? They should!

We had our first GA game on Saturday and I made these to celebrate the occasion. I loved them! They were tedious, but so cute. I hope someone wants me to make these for their next football game party!

I'm hoping to be back in business next week getting busy caking again!

The Giant Cupcake

I wish I had more orders for the cake because it is so cute and fun! I made this cake for a special 7 yr old's birthday celebration. I even made coordinating cupcakes. This was my very first time working with fondant...good thing I've had bunches of practice since then!
